General Government Consolidated Debt Made up LTL 13.4 billion in the 2nd Quarter

Vilnius, September 12, 2006. According to the data presented by the Ministry of Finance, at the end of the 2nd quarter of the current year the general government consolidated debt was LTL 13.4 billion and accounted for 17.3 % of the projected GDP of the current year.

The general government debt narrowed by LTL 136.8 million over the 2nd quarter of the current year. The domestic debt expanded by LTL 202.9 million and was LTL 4,702.5 million (35.1 % of total government debt). The foreign debt narrowed by LTL 339.8 million and made up LTL 8,683.8 million (64.9 %).

At the end of the 2nd quarter total long-term debt amounted to LTL 12,678.3 million (94.7 % of total government debt), the short-term debt amounted to LTL 708 million (5.3 % of total government debt). The major part of the government debt (91 %) consisted of securities.
