Vice-Minister of Finance of Lithuania – Adviser to the President-Elect of the European Commission

Vice-Minister Miglė Tuskienė has been invited to join the team of President-elect of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. She will be an economic adviser.

Miglė’s contribution to the activities of the Ministry of Finance, international representation of our country is really valuable and enduring. Together with the team of the Ministry of Finance we wish her and her new team success and meaningful results,” says Minister of Finance Vilius Šapoka.

Ms M. Tuskienė worked in various positions in the Ministry of Finance for 20 years, of which half − in the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union (EU) in Brussels. Her main fields of activities include fiscal policy, economic and financial issues of the EU and activities of international financial institutions.

Ms M. Tuskienė successfully represented Lithuania in a number of international institutions such as the European Investment Bank, World Bank, European Stability Mechanism, etc. Ms M. Tuskienė is the Chairperson of the Administrative Council of the Council of Europe Development Bank. She has also made a huge contribution to the successful Lithuanian Presidency.

Ms M. Tuskienė has been working as Vice-Minister of Finance of Lithuania since 2017.
