Short project description
The aim of the Project is to investigate initial, time-periodic and almost time-periodic boundary value problems for parabolic, Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations set in domains that become infinite in one or several directions. These problems are important from the viewpoint of applications, for example, the Navier-Stokes equations describe a motion of viscous incompressible fluid. Equations considered in domain with outlets to infinity can be used as models for blood-circulation system, oil-piping, etc.
The objectives of the research are to investigate the asymptotic behaviour with respect to space variables and to construct and justify asymptotic representations of solutions of the mentioned evolutionary problems set in domains having parabolic, spatially-periodic and cylindrical outlets to infinity. Another aim of the Project is to develop the methodology of setting correct asymptotic conditions at infinity for the time-periodic and almost time-periodic Stokes/Navier-Stokes systems in domains with cylindrical outlets.
