In June Central Government Debt Represented 15.5 % of the Projected GDP for the Current Year

Vilnius, July 30. According to the data presented by the Ministry of Finance, in June central government debt increased by LTL 33 million and amounted to LTL 14,300 million or represented 15.5 % of the projected GDP for the current year.

Over June central government domestic debt increased by LTL 63.2 million and in end-month made up LTL 4,567.5 million (i.e. represented 31.9 % of total debt). Central government was indebted to domestic financial sector LTL 4,468.1 million, non-financial sector – LTL 56.2 million, other creditors – LTL 43.3 million.

Over the month central government foreign debt narrowed by LTL 29.3 million and in end-month amounted to LTL 9,732.5 million (i.e. represented 68.1 % of total debt). Central government was indebted to foreign banks and other financial institutions - LTL 9,411.9 million, international organisations – LTL 320.6 million.

Total long-term central government debt was LTL 13,591.4 million (i.e. represented 95 % of total debt), short-term – LTL 708.6 million (i.e. represented 5 % of total debt).
