In September Central Government Debt Amounted to LTL 13,888.3 Million

Vilnius, October 30. According to the data presented by the Ministry of Finance, in September central government debt narrowed by LTL 201.4 million and amounted to LTL 13,888.3 million or represented 14.6 % of the projected GDP for the current year (LTL 95,361 million).

Over September central government debt increased by LTL 102.8 million and in end-month it was LTL 4,596.2 million (i.e. represented 33.1 % of total debt). Central government was indebted to domestic financial sector LTL 4,499.6 million, non-financial sector – LTL 44.1 million, other creditors (households and non-profit institutions) – LTL 52.5 million.

Over the month central government foreign debt narrowed by LTL 304.2 million and in end-month amounted to  LTL 9,292.1 million (66.9 % of total debt). Central government was indebted to foreign banks and other financial institutions LTL 8,969.4 million, international organisations – LTL 322.7 million.

Total long-term central government debt was LTL 13,476.4 million (97 % of total debt), short-term – LTL 411.9 million (3 % of total debt).
