Vilnius, August 31. Yesterday in Riga the meeting of Ministers of Finance of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia was held, where a common view of the Baltic States on EU financial policy issues was coordinated.

During the meeting the issues on the EU budgetary review after the year 2013, harmonisation of a consolidated corporate tax base, increase of minimum excise duties on  fuels established at EU level, taxation of motorcars, development of customs electronic systems, as well as issues regarding Russia border crossing and representation of the Baltic States in the World Bank were discussed. Such coordination is a significant part of the decision-making at EU level.

The Ministers of Finance of the Baltic States decided to arrange other meeting in 2008 in Lithuania. More
