The selection of independent members to the new-term Board of Supervisors of Ignitis Group has been announced

Today, the Ministry of Finance announced the selection of six new independent members to the Board of Supervisors of Ignitis Group as the term of office of the current Board of Supervisors is expiring on 25 October 2025. The selected candidates will take up their duties after being elected as members of the Board of Supervisors of Ignitis Group by the decision of the General Meeting of Shareholders of the Company.

The Board of Supervisors of Ignitis Group is a collegiate body whose main competence covers the supervision of the company's activities, the approval of the strategy as well as its implementation analysis and supervision and is elected for the period of 4 years. The new-term Board of Supervisors of the company will employ 2 more members – 6 independent members and 3 civil servants (the Board of Supervisors has so far consisted of 5 independent members and 2 employees of the Ministry). These changes in the composition of the Board have been made to further meet the highest standards of good governance and to expand competences relevant to the implementation of strategic energy projects significant for the activities of the company and to the public. 

The international selection of the members of the Board of Supervisors of Ignitis Group will be performed by an ad hoc selection committee by invoking the agency for the recruitment of managers and executive staff Pedersen & Partners UAB. The members will be selected based on set general, specific and independence requirements in the course of the comparative assessment of each candidate. Candidates for positions may apply till 24 July.

Currently, Mr. Alfonso Faubel, Mr. Tim Brooks and Ms. Judith Buss are members of the Board of Supervisors of Ignitis Group who have extensive international experience in energy companies, in particular, in the field of renewable energy, Ms. Lorraine Wrafter, experienced manager of organisational development and human resources, and Ms. Sian Lloyd Rees having many years of international experience, extensive expertise in the energy sector and digitize competencies. The ministerial experts delegated by the Ministry of Finance to the Board of Supervisors are Ms. Aušra Vičkačkienė and Ms. Ingrida Muckutė.

74.99 % of the company’s shares are held by the Ministry of Finance, while 25.01 % of shares belong to small investors.
