Competence Areas

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania is an executive public authority, the mission whereof is the development and enforcement of an efficient public financial policy with a view to ensuring the macroeconomic stability of the State and its economic growth. The strategic objectives of the Ministry are to formulate the fiscal policy strengthening confidence in macroeconomic stability, to ensure the efficient management and use of funds of the State and the European Union, and to develop the financial sector and ensure the smooth enforcement of other measures in the financial sector. The Minister of Finance represents Lithuania in the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), and other relevant international and regional institutions.
