Financial Assistance

Prior to the EU membership, Lithuania received EU financial assistance under PHARE, ISPA and SAPARD programmes, as well as bilateral Norway-Lithuania programme, participated in European Community programmes. From 2004 Lithuania started receiving the Structural Funds assistance and assistance under the Transition Facility. At present financial assistance is also granted under the European Economic Area and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms, there is an ongoing preparation for absorption of assistance under Swiss Financial Mechanisms.
