Ahead of the Eurogroup meeting, Minister for Finance: Europe is strong, and being united we will find effective decisions with the US
Ahead of the Eurogroup (EG) meeting in Brussels, in a doorstep statement, Minister of Finance Kristupas Vaitiekūnas stressed that Europe is strong economically and being united will come to the right decisions to strengthen relations with the US.
"Europe is strong enough economically, it is important to stand united and find the best decision with the Americans," he stressed, adding that it was still too early to be more specific, we need to wait for the negotiations and the further course of the process.
When asked whether joint defence loans are necessary and prompted by changing relations with the United States, the Minister said such loans were needed earlier.
The Minister also confirmed to the journalists that Lithuania supports the digital euro project, but it is not yet clear when it is to be implemented.
