In Washington, D.C. the Vice-Minister of Finance will attend the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank

On 21-25 October, Vice-Minister of Finance Mindaugas Liutvinskas will be paying a visit to Washington, D.C. where he will attend the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB). During the meetings, finance ministers and central bank leaders will discuss global economic prospects, support to the world's poorest countries, and a common response to climate change. Mobilising further financial support to the Ukraine will also be among the priorities on the meeting agenda.

In Washington, D.C. the Vice -Minister will have meetings with senior representatives of the IMF and WB, including President of the World Bank Group Ajay Banga, Vice President of the Europe and Central Asia Region at the World Bank Antonella Bassani and Director of the European Department, IMF Alfred Kammer.

The Vice -Minister will attend the meetings of the IMF and the WB Nordic-Baltic Group, the plenary session of the Boards of Governors, the session of the IMF International Monetary and Financial Committee. Mr M. Liutvinskas will also represent Lithuania in a round table discussion organised by the WB on further support of Western partners to the Ukraine defending itself from russian aggression.

During his visit to the US capital, the Vice- Minister will meet with Deputy Assistant Secretary for Strategic Policy in the. U.S. Department of the Treasury Scott Rembrandt, with whom he will discuss Western sanctions against russia and the mobilisation of further support to the Ukraine. Other bilateral meetings and interviews with media outlets are also scheduled during the visit.
