Minister of Finance K. Vaitiekūnas: "Better knowledge of the capital market opens up opportunities to more easily attract financing from different sources"
Why is it important for financial professionals not to miss the 11th International Conference “Capital Markets for Competitiveness and Resilience” – the most important event of this year on capital markets in the Baltic States, taking place in Vilnius on 7 November?
“The Lithuanian capital market has recently been undergoing a real transformation – companies are discovering new opportunities to attract financing from different sources and using different instruments, and this, in turn, opens up wider investment opportunities for investors. Therefore, better knowledge of the capital market provides real, tangible and practical benefits to everyone”, Minister of Finance Kristupas Vaitiekūnas states.
According to the Minister, competitiveness and resilience are the main issues that both Lithuania and the European Union as a whole are currently focusing on.
“Remaining competitive, promoting innovation, while accumulating sufficient resources and being prepared for potential geopolitical challenges is a task not only for the state, but also for the financial market, which acts as an intermediary and catalyst”, K. Vaitiekūnas is convinced.
According to him, this conference is an important and dynamic discussion space for policymakers, financial sector professionals and the public. It analyses the main trends and challenges of capital markets, paying special attention to the specifics of the Baltic markets, the needs of retail investors, and this year – to strengthening resilience in the context of geopolitical challenges.
This year's conference is unique in its participants – for the first time in 11 years, such a high-level capital market policymakers and regional and global financial market players will gather in Lithuania, and the conference partner is the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) – an intergovernmental organization the function of which is to mobilize financial resources and provide financial support to euro area countries facing financing problems.
Maria Luís Albuquerque, European Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investment Union, Swedbank President Jens Henriksson, Nasdaq Baltic Head Kaarelas Ots, and leaders of other major international financial institutions will participate in the conference discussions.
Therefore, useful insights will be heard by industry, business representatives, investors – all those who are interested in financing opportunities.
The conference will be held on 7 November 2025 in Vilnius, at the Radisson Blue Hotel Lietuva; you can register for the conference here.
