On-going discussions on reduction of the administrative burden - at the meeting with the Business Council
At the meeting with representatives of the Business Council, Vice-Minister of Finance Vaida Česnulevičiūtė-Markevičienė discussed further actions to reduce the administrative burden for businesses by making use of the European Union and other financial sources.
According to the Vice-Minister, the reduction of difficulties limiting business opportunities is one of the strategic goals of the Ministry of Finance, and the plan drawn up, which will include, inter alia, such important measures as simplification of procurement for non-contracting entities and digitisation of declarations of SMEs will contribute to the achievement of this goal.
“Efficient and proportionate regulation is directly related to the competitiveness of our country, therefore, reduction of the administrative burden and improvement of business environment is one of the goals of the Ministry of Finance. Positively, what has been initiated by the Ministry of Finance – simplification of legislation and procedures, digitisation of public services, making it more convenient for businesses to become applicants for investments - contributes to the already visible change”, says Vice-Minister of Finance Vaida Česnulevičiūtė-Markevičienė.
According to the Vice-Minister, the actions foreseen in the plan already have tangible results: for a project promoter – less complicated reporting while submitting documents. A simplified form enables the applicant to fill in it faster and more conveniently, thus investments reach the project promoters in a more accelerated manner. Also, more efficient administration is underway – contracts are signed faster, and the process has been shortened by almost 28 per cent.
