The Ministry of Finance developed a procedure for faster implementation of military and civil infrastructure projects

The Ministry of Finance developed and submitted to the Government a procedure which will allow for faster and more effective implementation of infrastructure projects important for defence or civil protection. A new procedure foresees a possibility for Turto Bankas AB to help the ministries to implement complex military and civil infrastructure projects, i.e. to organise and coordinate processes and to ensure more effective their management. It is planned that the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Health will be clients of Turto Bankas AB.

“This procedure will provide institutions with more possibilities to smoothly implement military and civil infrastructure projects important to the State. The experience of Turto Bankas in managing real estate and infrastructure projects will help to speed up the preparation for the projects, ensure a clearer planning of funding and more effective management of projects themselves.  The faster such projects move, the stronger our State's defence and civil protection will be,” Minister of Finance Taurimas Valys said.

According to the approved procedure, Turto Bankas AB will act as project partner. The ministries will be able to approach Turto Bankas with a proposal to contribute to the development of a significant specific military or civil infrastructure project under implementation. Institutions will be obliged to provide Turto Bankas AB with information on planned activities, project deadlines, funding and activities which would need participation of Turto Bankas AB.
The agreements will agree on the contribution of Turto Bankas AB, i.e. execution of procurement, organisation of design and construction works, administration of tenders for contracts or performance of other functions.   For this it will be compensated according to the contract.
