Vice-Minister Lukas Jakubonis has joined the political team of the Minister of Finance

On 23 March, Vice-Minister Lukas Jakubonis joined the political team of Minister ofFinance Kristupas Vaitiekūnas, who will be responsible for Tax Policy, the State Tax Inspectorate, the Customs Department and the Ministry's Audit Department.

L. Jakubonis has almost 10 years of experience at the Bank of Lithuania: from the Chief Lawyer to the Head of Financial Market Development. The Vice-Minister has longstanding experience in European and Lithuanian financial market regulation, was responsible for attracting banks and fintech companies to Lithuania, capital market development, and representing the Bank of Lithuania at various events and conferences.

Prior to that, he practiced private practice as a lawyer between 2014 and 2017.

L. Jakubonis holds a Master's degree in Civil Law from Mykolas Romeris University.
