The Ministry of Finance Does Not Send E-mails Requesting A Transfer Of Money

The Ministry of Finance received an enquiry from a foreign citizen concerning the e-mail sent on behalf of the Ministry of Finance requesting to make a payment in order to receive the benefit. Please note that this is a deception — the Ministry of Finance does not send this type of e-mails.

It is important to note that:
• The Ministry of Finance does not send any e-mails to natural persons requesting a transfer of money, in particular, if this is a condition for receiving the payment.
• Always check if the e-mail has been sent from the official e-mail of the Ministry of Finance (it should end with @finmin.lt). If you have any suspicion of e-mails of whatever content, please contact the Ministry of Finance by e-mail [email protected]
• If you have received an e-mail of the aforementioned content with a request for payment, do not follow the instructions given, as you may be a victim of fraudsters and lose your money. In such case, contact the law enforcement authorities (police or financial crime investigation service) in your country as soon as possible and report the fraud by presenting all available information.
