For military mobility transport infrastructure projects – an additional EUR 42.3 million
Today, the Government approved the draft resolution submitted by the Ministry of Finance, which proposes to allocate additional funds for military mobility transport infrastructure projects this year. EUR 42.3 million will be allocated to the Ministry of Transport and Communications from borrowed funds for the development of dual-use (military and civilian) transport infrastructure: for the development of the Via Baltica section from Marijampolė to the Lithuanian-Polish border and for the reconstruction of the middle bridge over the Neris and viaducts located on the highway A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda.
“We make use of the powers granted by the Budget Law and allocate additional funding to priority military mobility and dual-use transport infrastructure projects. This will allow ensuring the fulfilment of the host country’s obligations and the timely development of transport infrastructure adapted to military needs,” Minister of Finance Gintarė Skaistė says.
By this Government Resolution, the Ministry of Finance responds to the request of the Ministry of Transport and Communications to allocate EUR 42.3 million for the implementation of military mobility and dual-use (military and civilian) transport infrastructure projects.
EUR 17 million will be allocated to the reconstruction of the highway Via Baltica A5 Kaunas-Marijampolė-Suvalkai from km 56.83 to km 72.50.
EUR 10 million will be allocated for the reconstruction of the highway Via Baltica A5 Kaunas-Marijampolė-Suvalkai from 85.00 km to 97.06 km.
EUR 15.3 million will be channelled towards the reconstruction of the middle bridge (over the river Neris) and viaducts on the section of the national highway A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda from 99.03 km to 100.47 km.
