The CPMA Board elected: it will ensure even more efficient management of the agency
The Board of the Central Project Management Agency (CPMA) has been appointed. It was approved for a four-year term by Minister of Finance Gintarė Skaistė. Arūnas Penkaitis, Aurimas Tomas Staškevičius, Giedrius Simonavičius, Vaida Žukauskaitė, and Daiva Žaromskytė-Rastenė were appointed as members of the CPMA Board.
"We set new ambitious goals for the agency, paying special attention to improving the relationship with clients and effective communication. An energetic team has been selected, which unites professionals with different experiences and skills. I have no doubt that such a balancing of experiences and new knowledge and competences will ensure even more effective management of the agency and will start a new phase of it," Minister of Finance G. Skaistė says.
The CPMA Board consists of 5 members: 3 independent Board members, one Board member from the Office of the Government, and one Board member from the Ministry of Finance. The term of office of the Board members is four years.
The following successful candidates were elected as independent Board members: Arūnas Penkaitis, an expert in digital innovations, one of the founders of the Lithuanian IT Executive Club CIO.LT. Aurimas Tomas Staškevičius is an experienced expert in corporate strategy formation, value enhancement and operational management efficiency. Journalist, communication expert Giedrius Simonavičius has accumulated considerable experience in creating and implementing nationally important communication strategies, as well as developing image and crisis communication activities. Vaida Žukauskaitė, Chief Advisor of the Investment Department of the Ministry of Finance, is an expert in the management and administration of international investments, with experience in management and governance. Daiva Žaromskytė-Rastenė, Head of the Strategic Governance Group of the Office of the Government, is a state strategic governance professional who has accumulated considerable experience working with various public sector institutions.
The CPMA Board will consider and make proposals to the Ministry of Finance regarding the agency's operational strategy, strategic operational goals and directions, the annual operational tasks of the agency's Director, as well as the actions necessary to achieve the agency's goals and to increase operational efficiency and awareness, to reduce the administrative burden, focusing on the needs of clients.
The activities of the agency cover many areas of state management: energy, culture, education and science, social security, transport, justice, foreign and internal affairs, health, business and national defense. The agency actively contributes to the implementation of reconstruction projects in Ukraine.
The CPMA administers 16 investment programmes of the European Union, other donor countries and the state, with a total value of more than EUR 16.6 billion. The agency also provides methodological support for the management of public investments, developing international cooperation activities, transferring the administrative experience accumulated by the Lithuanian public sector to the institutions of foreign countries.
