General Government Fiscal Sustainability Reports
The General Government Fiscal Sustainability Report is an analytical document illustrating the impact of fiscal policy choices on the long-term sustainability of Lithuania's public finances.
Depending on the chosen general government revenue and expenditure policy directions, debt dynamics and debt sustainability can vary significantly. The debt scenarios modelled using a tool developed by the Ministry of Finance can serve as a guide to identifying the most favourable mix of fiscal policy measures.
The long-term general government debt and fiscal sustainability assessment based on this tool is updated when drafting the Law on the Approval of Financial Indicators of the State Budget and Municipal Budgets and, as needed, when developing major tax and/or expenditure policy measures. This helps strengthen evidence-based and risk-informed fiscal management.
